We have all experienced the spontaneous and magnetic phenomenom called "Flow" at some point in our lives.
When you find yourself so deeply entrenched in work, an activity, or a project, that you just seem to be on "automatic," and you are no longer thinking about what you are doing because you are just so "into it" that time becomes irrelevant, that's Flow.
Proposed by positive psychologist, Mihaly Csíkszentmihályi, flow is defined as completely focused motivation. The hallmark of flow is a feeling of spontaneous joy, even rapture, while performing a task.
Colloquial terms for this or similar mental states include: to be on the ball, in the zone, or in the groove. In an extreme state of being in the zone, time slows down and unusually higher physical performance may be achieved.
