For years I've been giving presentations on success principles. It wasn't until I was recently invited to speak in the UK that my talk on this subject crystallized.
Essentially, success - no matter how you define it - comes down to effort (consistent effort), resources (including resourcefulness, i.e. anything that facilitates one's success - including the resources at one's disposal, or within one's network), and opportunities (recognizing and capitalizing on them).
So remember this equation: Effort+Resources+Opportunities = Success.
