The Imperfections Of The Perfectionist

It wasn't until I studied psychology that I realized that the many self-proclaimed perfectionists I've encountered in my life, who while admitting what they felt was an admirable characteristic, where unknowingly, acknowledging a personality disorder.

There are 3 types of perfectionists:

1.) The self-blaming perfectionist, who is rigid and unrealistic.
2.) The task master perfectionist, who is overbearing.
3.) The conforming perfectionist, who wants to please others.

Consider this:

*Perfectionists often have excessive anxiety about failure.
*Perfectionists have difficulty keeping relationships.
*Perfectionists are often dissatisfied with themselves and with others.
*Perfectionists are more tense and easily irritated.
*Perfectionism creates vulnerability to depression.

You can learn more about perfectionism here and below.
